What Now is 2...

My beautiful girls!  Hard to believe in just about 4 weeks they are going to have a little brother.  I remember when Molly was 3 and we were expecting Aubrey, I had no idea how she'd truly feel about a little sister.  I couldn't even dream of how close they already are and how sweet they are with each other.  All the "'kissies" just make me melt.  At this point I can't imagine another kiddo joining them, but I know that in no time at all, they will welcome him in their arms and not long after that he'll be following them around in adoration.  We will look back and it will be hard to remember when it was just 2.

Can't wait for all the changes a 3rd brings.

Good Golly Miss Molly turns {6}

Yes, it's true.  My baby love turned 6.  Okay, she's not my baby baby, but she's my oldest baby.
We've sure grown up a LOT since last years Pinkalicious Party.  This year, Miss Molly wanted to have her birthday party at an inflatable bounce place.  It was a great idea.  All the kids had lots of fun, and by the time the party was over they were all red faced and outta breath.  Hopefully they all slept GREAT for their mommies and daddies!!!
Hard to believe she's 6 already....
I told myself I wasn't going to make this a mushy post because Lord knows this emotional momma can't turn the tears off too easily right now.  I love her.  I adore her, and I am so happy she's our Sunshine & Rainbows.  Love you, Miss Mo!

Taylor Swift cake, it's still all Molly is talking about!

Aubrey and Layla, great match these two!

Laney Lou, as cute as they come!!

These girls needed a water break.  All that bouncing is hard work!

The party animals....minus Campbell hiding on the back row in the middle....

There's Campbell!  All these kids are so much fun.  And all SOO well behaved.  I was impressed.

Molly with her gal pal, Stevie Jo!

This is one sweet boy right here......he's responsible for the missing frosting spot in the next pic.....hehehe...

On her BIG DAY!

Some weekend pics.....enjoying the sunny weather in February.

These girlies adore their puppy!  Buzz, make room for baby bro!  Who still remains nameless.

Aubi decided to roll in the grass...I thought she was getting the grass off herself, but I'm not so sure she wasn't dancing.  Haha, either way, she's smiling!!

Pregnancy Diaries Part 2

1/19/2012
Daddy got to feel you, baby boy, moving for the first time last night.  It was so exciting for the both of us!!
Hard to believe 20 weeks have already gone by.  Halfway there!  I get more anxious as the days go by.

1/23/2012
Today we have our ultrasound at the SMCC.  Mimi and Jellie are coming in hopes to sneak a peak of you.   Daddy is using this ultrasound as confirmation that you really are a boy. Hahaha, he still doesn’t seem to believe the first ultrasound.  Can’t wait to get to look at you today!!

01/29/2012
There is no denying that you are ALL boy.  The ultrasound was awesome.  The tech was so sweet and spent lots of time letting us drink you in.  You instantly showed your boy parts, but at first I wasn’t convinced.  I jokingly said I would really like to see this baby just spread eagle so there is no doubt.  So, sure enough, the tech looked again at your hiney and you were SPREAD EAGLE.  You were definitely showing us that there is no mistake.  Any doubt or “what if” is gone.  I like to think that you heard me say I wanted to see you spread eagle and that you are ALREADY following directions!  Haha.
Mimi and Jellie were so excited.  We all had tears in our eyes and I know I sure had a new warmth in my heart.  Daddy was pretty excited…he was calling you “tri-pod” after some of the images we saw of you with your legs spread.  Now it’s time to start shopping.  I highly doubt you’ll care this early, but there is all pink ALL over the house with your two sisters, so it’s time for some blue!

02/06/2012
Today, Molly got to feel you kicking.  I placed her hand over my tummy and I just sat there quietly.  You kicked and she felt it.  Her face lit up.  She is one heck of big sis already and you are just going to adore her.  I know it.

02/07/2012
Today my heart aches.    One of my best childhood friends, who was full term in her pregnancy lost her sweet baby girl.  It is so hard to accept things like this.  There is no understanding it.  Pregnancy is such a miracle- the entire process.  I have worried through all my pregnancies, praying that none of the millions of things that can go wrong will happen.  I worry until I hold my babies in my arms and see that they are safe and perfect.  Then the worry for my children starts all over again, and it will never end until my own heart stops.  Every little pitter patter that you make inside me is so indescribably wonderful.   It’s a reminder that you are moving and making yourself comfortable.  Your sister Aubrey, was a WILD little one growing inside me.   Sometimes I thought she was kicking me just to see which rib she could bruise.  She definitely made herself known and while sometimes I complained about the pain it caused,  I was also happy that she was so active and that she had 2 legs to kick me with.
I went to the doctor yesterday and got to hear your sweet heartbeat just pumping away.  I always smile as soon as I hear it.
Pregnancy is not easy.  Not easy on the brain, the heart, the body.  I am reminded again today that it is also the most wonderful thing.  To be chosen to bring a baby into this world.  I have 2 sweet daughters who are perfect and we are anxiously awaiting your birth, baby boy.  I feel so blessed already to have 2 wonderful children, when some women pray their whole lives to just have 1 healthy baby.  Thank you, sweet Jesus for allowing us these gifts.   We all moan and groan and grumble during pregnancy, but the next time I want to gripe about my belly, or some other funky thing going on right now, I’m going to stop myself and instantly thank God for letting my belly grow, because it means you are growing just as you should be.  I’m 23 weeks along right now, so over halfway “there” and every day is one step closer to meeting you.

Newest Member of the Fam

We got a puppy!  A boy one!  That's what Molly has been telling everyone she knows.  She is correct! :)  He was my anniversary gift from the sweetest hubby in the whole world.  Our puppy is already a big part of the family and we are all completely smitten over him.  Aubrey was timid at first....actually a bit scared is more appropriate, but she quickly overcame her uncertainties of the puppy and now she's CRAZY about him.  She especially loves helping me and sis take him on walks and giving him treats when he's a "good boy".  We decided to name him Buzz.  For those who are interested, he's a Maltese Shihtzu mix. We all call him Buzzard, Buzzy, the Buzzinator, etc.  He is SO darn sweet.  At first, potty training had me and my honey both confused and scratching our heads, but one weekend I (somehow) grew lots of patience and worked diligently with him and it seemed to do the trick.  I must brag on my honey's patience too, he's been great.  Buzz now potties outside and when we are gone he potties on his puppy pads.  He LOVES being rough with Greggy, it's so funny to watch.  Buzz has the silliest little bark that we all laugh at.  He's learning to stay and sit and fetch.  He's also helping to get me prepared for getting up in the middle of the night  when the baby comes.  Buzz and I were having potty time about 3-4 times a night at first, and it's already down to just 1 wake up call.  Not bad!!  Here are some sweet pictures I took last week.

Introducing our sweet puppy, Buzz!

Pregnancy Diaries Part 1

10/04/2011
Positive.   One month.
Within one month of trying here we are pregnant with baby #3.  Yowza.  What’s most comical to me is that most of our friends and family that hear the word “trying” in the same sentence with baby would laugh, knowing Greg and I’s history.   Let’s cover that ground.  Molly was first, I was on birth control, but “surprise!” we were having a baby anyway.   Aubrey.  She was the one time play with fire!  And then 4 weeks later, “no way!!!” response.  Indeed, after the initial shock (both times) we were so thrilled to be chosen to bring these miracles into the world.
So, here we are, Molly, 5 Aubrey, 2.  Baby #3 due in June of 2012.  We couldn’t be more excited.

11/09/2011
Morning sickness.  Never really battled it with the first 2 pregnancies.  This time it’s been rough, and I feel like crud most all the time!  I’ve thrown up, been nauseous, and fought (and lost) exhaustion.  I barely make it through the day at work.  I sleep through my alarm until the last possible minute to get up and run to the shower and make sure Molly’s at school before the bell and that I’m at work on time.  We get home at night only for me to fall asleep on the couch sitting up.  I haven’t cooked at ALL, and I’m feeling like a worthless mother and wife while my precious hubby covers all the homework and bath time.  He’s been tucking me in to bed well before 8.  Thank God for him.  I sure hope this ALL eases up on me soon.  Energy needs to make a stop at my doorstep.  Soon!

12/22/2011
We went to Angel Vision Ultrasounds here in Shawnee.  It was hard getting Greg to come with me.  He didn’t want to know the sex until birth like we did with Aubrey, but he finally decided he would go.
He kept trying to jinx the ultrasound though, saying the baby would have its legs crossed.
We walked in and the lady, Ann, was so nice.  She asked if this was our first baby and we answered that it was our third.  So, we get started with the ultrasound and she’s looking around and saying what a cute profile the baby has.  It didn’t take her long to start looking for the gender.  She was funny, she pointed out the femur, the “hiney crack” and hip bones, then she said, “and this is something you are not used to seeing, because you are having a boy!”  I started to cry a little and Greg and I were just in disbelief.  It was almost as if we were questioning what she was seeing, even though it was pretty visible.  I was looking for the 3 lines for a little girl, because that’s all I know.  This whole ultrasound was just supposed to be confirmation that this was another girl.  Was I wrong or what?!  She showed us in 3 or 4 different angles that it was a boy.  I felt bad, I had to apologize to her, because I didn’t want her to think I doubted her, I was just in complete shock!  She said, “Oh honey, trust me.  I’ve been doing these for 30 years and I have learned not to speak if I’m not sure, and there are times when that happens.”  Then she said, “Now occasionally I’ve seen babies grow a turtle, but I’ve yet to see one fall off.”
Greg was pretty quiet…I was too.  We got out to the car and sat for a moment and then unrolled the ultrasound images to look again.  Greg said, “What am I going to do with a boy?!” Then he said, “we are going to need one of those cups that you put over them when they are newborns to keep them from peeing everywhere.  Aww, he will have to be circumcised!”  I just laughed at him.  He is going to eat it up when it all sinks in.   It’s been 2 days and I’m still in shock.  I pulled out Molly’s US images to compare the gender checks….yep, definitely a difference.  I keep pulling baby boy’s pictures out of my purse and just stare again.  With Christmas a few days away, we cannot wait to share the news with our families.  No one has any idea that we had an US…after all, I’m 17 weeks, so still a little early for when the doctor prefers.   I can’t wait.

12/30/2011
So, the cat’s outta the bag!   To surprise my Mother in law, we wrapped a newborn OU jersey among other Christmas gifts for her and go figure, it was the FIRST gift of the night that she opened!!  It was fun and sweet to see her excitement, along with the rest of my in-laws.  On Greggy’s side, there are our 2 girls plus Greg’s brother has 1 boy and 1 girl….so 1 outnumbered precious boy….until now.
For my side of the family, we play Dirty Santa, so Greg suggested we wrap a baby boy gift and throw it in the game.  He went shopping with me for the item, and he picked out a little blue hooded bath robe with slippers.   This time, our gift was the last one chosen.  My aunt Paula was the one to open it and she was SO confused.  It was hilarious.  Most of our Dirty Santa gifts are tools, gift cards, girly stuff, etc, but never baby clothes.  She lifted it out of the gift sack and about the time everyone had time to see it, Greg jumped up and said, “Oh, I’m sorry!  That isn’t for you. “ He handed her a Visa gift card and walked over to my mom and dropped the blue baby robe in her lap.  The confusion only grew.  All my aunts, uncles, cousins, my brother & sister, parents, bro in law and sis in law were in the room looking around completely puzzled.  We didn’t say anything at first, and then it’s like a light bulb went off in my mom’s head and she said, “Do you know what you’re having?  Did you find out?  Did you?!? “  I just shook my head yes and smiled with tears in my eyes and then everyone in the room went from  quiet and confused into shock mode with laughter to follow.  My mom and dad jumped up and came over to hug Greg and I.  My mom was crying and I know my dad was just beyond thrilled.  This baby will make my parents 7th grandchild and only the second grandson, but if you know my parents, their reaction to the news of a new grandbaby is not any less exciting than the news of the very first one.  My mom instantly calls or texts her sisters and is just over the moon.  I love that they were so overjoyed by the news.  Made this year’s Christmas extra memorable.

01/05/2012
I am in love with these first flutters of this growing baby inside me.  Every day or every other day I feel soft movements, stretches, kicks, and they just give me a little pep in my step and a grin on my face.  I anxiously wait for the next feeling.  Right now, I usually feel a few movements all at one time during the day.  This morning here at my desk I felt a few lil rumbles.  Such a sweet reminder of what’s to come.  I can’t help but wonder if this little guy will have blonde curly hair, and blue eyes like his sisters.   It doesn’t matter, I’m already head over heels.
